NCDC is a development financing institution for the cooperative sector in the country and provides assistance for economic development of agriculture & rural sector through cooperative societies. The Corporation’s focus is on programmes of agricultural inputs, processing, storage and marketing of agriculture produce and supply of consumer goods in rural areas. In the non-farm sector, the Corporation’s endeavour is to equip cooperatives with facilities to promote income generating activities, with special focus on weaker sections such as handlooms, sericulture, poultry, fishery, scheduled caste & scheduled tribes cooperatives etc. It also provides assistance for capacity building and upgradation of skills of personnel involved in the cooperatives.

NCDC provides funds to the Cooperatives either through the State Government or directly to the cooperatives subject to fulfilment of eligibility norms. While the loan component (both Term Loan & Investment Loan) is provided by NCDC from its own resources, subsidy wherever applicable, is provided under various Schemes of Government of India.

NCDC’ continues to maintain net NPA at zero and loan recovery position above 99%. During the current year 2016-17, NCDC has so far disbursed `9500 crore against its target of `6000 crore. Cumulatively, assistance of over `68000 crore has been provided upto 15.01.2017 for various cooperative development programmes by NCDC.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited. (GNFC), is a joint sector enterprise promoted by the Government of Gujarat and the Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(GSFC). It was set up in Bharuch, Gujarat in 1976. Located at Bharuch in an extremely prosperous industrial belt, GNFC draws on the resources of the natural wealth of the land as well as the industrially rich reserves of the area.

GNFC started its manufacturing and marketing operations by setting up in 1982, one of the world's largest single-stream ammonia-urea fertilizer complexes. Over the next few years, GNFC successfully commissioned different projects - in fields as diverse as chemicals, fertilizers and electronics.

Bangalore Development Authority

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) came into being with effect from 6th January 1976 under a separate Act of the State Legislature viz. the BDA Act 1976. This Authority combined in itself the Planning functions of the City Planning Authority and the developmental functions of the erstwhile CITB.

The Bangalore Development Authority came into existence in 1976 as a successor to the erstwhile City Improvement Trust Board. Development of Bangalore in a planned manner, creating quality infrastructure, provision of sites and services and catering to the housing needs of the under privileged are the focus areas of the BDA.

Since inception, the BDA has allotted 76,000 sites to individuals for construction of residential dwellings. In addition, more than 800 civic amenity sites have been given for use by various public utilities, as also organisations, catering to the felt needs of the particular locality.

Karnataka Housing Board

Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) established under Karnataka Housing Board Act 1962 as a successor to Mysore Housing Board constituted in 1956. The primary objective of KHB is 'to make such schemes and to carry out such works as are necessary for the purpose of dealing with and satisfying the need of housing accommodation'. With this directive KHB endeavors to provide housing to the people of Karnataka at affordable cost and therefore recognized as the most important agency for housing throughout Karnataka.

Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board

Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board is an implementing body for Water Supply and Under Ground Drainage schemes in 213 Urban areas of the State except Bangalore city. The Board aims to provide adequate Water Supply from assured and safe sources of supply and also proper sanitation to all the Urban areas.


Karnataka State Powerloom Development Corporation is a Government of Karnataka undertaking incorporated under the companies Act 1956 during 1994 & is established for promotion and development of Power-loom sector in the state. Both the JV partners hold a stake of 49% each in the company and the remaining 2% is held by financial institutions. HMEL operates the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery of 9 MMTPA at Bathinda in Punjab. The joint venture partners bring more than four decades of experience in the oil refining industry and expertise in the global industry to the table.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is constituted under an Act of Parliament i.e. the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (Act No. 56 of 1980). ICSI is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India awards the certificate of bestowing the designation of Company Secretary(CS) to a candidate qualifying for the membership of the Institute. It was in 1960 that the Company Law Board started a course in Company Secretaryship leading to the award of Government Diploma in Company Secretaryship.
