Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, National Chairman of Executive Council of Institute of Directors, was a former Chief Justice of India. He was Chairman of the Human Rights Commission. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Science and in Law from the University of Mysore. He commenced general practice of law in the year 1951, and was appointed Permanent Judge of the High Court of Karnataka w.e.f. 6.11.1975 and Judge of the Supreme Court of India w.e.f. 5.10.1987. Subsequently, he was appointed Chief Justice of India w.e.f. 12.2.1993 and retired on 24.10.1994. He was 25th Chief Justice of India .Even after his retirement; he has continued to work on anti-corruption and human rights issues, including support for the launch of the Initiatives of Change Centre for Governance.
Justice Uday U. Lalit enrolled as an advocate in June 1983. He specialised in criminal law and practiced at the Bombay HC from 1983 to 1985. Following his stint at the Bombay HC, he worked in the chambers of then Attorney General of India, Soli Sorabjee, from 1986 to 1992. Justice Lalit was designated as Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court in April, 2004. He aided the Court as amicus curiae in many important matters pertaining to forests, vehicular pollution and pollution of the Yamuna river. Justice Lalit was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court directly from the Bar on August 13th, 2014. He was the sixth Judge elevated directly to the SC without having served as a Judge in a lower court or High Court. As an SC Judge, he was appointed as the Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on May 14th, 2021. Justice Lalit took over as the 49th Chief Justice of India on August 27th, 2022, becoming the only second CJI to be elevated to directly from the bar.
Shri Ramesh Bais was sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra on 18 February 2023. Shri Bais is a respected name in the politics of the erstwhile state of Madhya Pradesh and the present Chhattisgarh as well as in national politics. In 1978, he was elected as councilor in Raipur Municipal Corporation for the first time. He was an elected member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Council from 1980 to 1985. In the year 1989, Shri Bais was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time from Raipur. He went on to set the record of getting elected to Lok Sabha from Raipur for seven consecutive terms. Over the years Shri Ramesh Bais has served as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Steel and Mines, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Union Ministry of Mines and as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. As member of 16th Lok Sabha, he was the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment. Shri Bais has done extensive work on the issue of rights of persons with disabilities as well as transgender persons. Shri Ramesh Bais has been the Governor of Tripura, Jharkhand before assuming charge as the 20th Governor of Maharashtra in February 2023. Governor Shri Ramesh Bais is a dedicated social worker. He organized health camps, eye check-up camps and sports competitions in rural areas.
Ms. Sireesha Chandana, in her current role of Talent Development also leads the Sustainability and CSR function for the Indian Hotels Company Limited. She has over 20+ years of experience and has been associated with the IHCL for the last two decades with extensive experience in Human resources. She has completed her certification in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and additional certifications in the space of Climate change and Sustainability Strategy formulation. She is a certified assessor for Psychometric tools as Hogan & Occupational Personality Questionnaire. In her current role amongst other areas, she is actively involved in Assessment & Development centres, Leadership Development, Content creation and Learning & Development process design. She is responsible for collaborations with external partners and designing and co creating programs to address various environmental concerns including energy use, water conservation, reduction of pollution and waste and focusing on preserving the bio diversity. She also oversees and implements corporate social responsibility initiatives and manages the operations of the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust.
Born on 16th June 1965 at Muskarai, District Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Had his college education in Colvin Taluqdars’ College, Lucknow. Graduated in laws (LL.B.) in the year 1991 from Lucknow University. Enrolled as an Advocate on 11th May, 1991 and joined chambers of his father – Shri R.A. Upadhyaya – practicing at Board of Revenue for last sixty years, Shri Mohd Arif Khan, Senior Advocate and Shri S.K. Kalia, Senior Advocate. Mainly practised in Civil and Constitutional sides at High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, at Lucknow. Was appointed as the Chief Standing Counsel, State of U.P. in May 2007 and continued to hold that office till elevation as Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. Appointed as a puisne Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad on 21st November 2011 and took oath as the permanent Judge of High Court of Judicature at Allahabad on 6th August 2013. Became Senior Judge of the Lucknow Bench on 28th March 2023. Appointed and took oath as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay on 29th July 2023.
Mr. Atul Temurnikar is a prominent member of the education industry in South East Asia, Middle East and India and serves as a founding Trustee and Executive Chairman of Singapore based Global Schools Foundation (GSF), a not-for-profit organisation. He is a philanthropist and born leader. Recently he contributed 200000 Singapore Dollar to PM Care Fund for Covid19. An engineer by qualification, he has completed his Masters in Management from the University of East London. His career saw him venturing into the education sector after a 14-year stint in information technology (IT) firms like HCL Technologies Ltd and IBM (1997-2002). Mr. Temurnikar is recipient of many awards / accolades incl. Walter L. Hurd Executive Medal from Walter L. Hurd Foundation, USA and the Asia Pacific Quality Organization.

Dr. P. Anbalagan took over as the Chairman & Managing Director, Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited on 30th September, 2022. He is an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the Maharashtra Cadre 2001 Batch. He is Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) from Madras Veterinary College, Chennai, Master in Dairying from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana. He is also pursuing M.Tech and Ph. D in Civil and Environmental Technology from Pune University, Maharashtra. In his illustrious career spanning over 21 years, he has held several important assignments in Government of Maharashtra, like Assistant Collector, Solapur & Karad, CEO Zilla Parishad, Nandurbar, Collector & District Magistrate, Ahmednagar, Joint CEO, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, Member Secretary of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. Prior to current assignment, he was working as CEO, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation.
Mr. Alok Kumar Choudhary, Managing Director of State Bank of India since June 7, 2022, boasts a distinguished 35-year career within the bank. Beginning as a Probationary Officer in 1987, he traversed various roles in Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, MSME, Agri & Rural Business, Branch Management, Human Resources, and Finance. Before assuming his current role, he served as Deputy Managing Director (Finance). A seasoned leader, he helmed the HR vertical and played a pivotal role in complex initiatives. M. P. Vijay Kumar is the Executive Director and Group CFO of Sify Technologies. He is also an Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee on the Board of The Life Insurance Corporation of India and an Independent Director on the Boards of Geojit Financial Services Limited and Heritage Foods Limited. He also serves as a Member of the IFRS Interpretation committee of International Accounting Standards Board and IFRS Advisory Council of the IFRS Foundation, London. He served as Council Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (2016-2022), was Chairman of Accounting Standards Board and Ex Officio Member of National Financial Reporting Authority for the period 2019-2022. He was part of the CFO Forum, the National Committee on Financial Reporting and the Accounting Standards Board of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). His was also a Partner at chartered accountants’ firm, Yoganandh & Ram. Dr. Hemlata Bagla (Vice Chancellor) is an accomplished academician and a pioneer educationist in strategizing excellence in institutions of higher learning. As the Senior Dean, Science and Technology, HSNC University, Mumbai and the Director of Niranjan Hiranandani School of Real Estate (NHSRE) and the Principal of K. C. She is a noted authority in nuclear and radiochemistry having guided students at Masters and PhD level for nearly 25 years. Mr. Rajat Kumar Saini is an IAS officer of 2007 batch of Telangana Cadre. He did his B.Tech from IIT Delhi and Masters in International Development from Harvard University. He assumed the charge of CEO & MD, NICDC w.e.f. 20th July, 2023. Before joining NICDC, he was holding the charge of Director in Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. He has more than 16 years of work experience in senior positions of executive leadership across sectors like education, health, poverty alleviation, livelihood intervention through community mobilisation - framing and executing policies and welfare programmes at State and Local Government.
Ms. Shyamala Gopinath has experience of around 39 years in financial sector and policy formulation in different capacities at the Reserve Bank of India. As Deputy Governor for seven years and member of the Board, she had been guiding and influencing national policies in diverse areas of central banking and regulation and supervision of financial institutions. She was on deputation to the IMF during 2001-2003. She was till January 2, 2021 Non-Executive Chairperson of HDFC bank. She has been Chairperson of the SEBI Advisory Committee on Corporate Bonds and Securitisation and the Advisory Committee on Bank Frauds. She was a RBI nominee on SBI, NHB and Exim bank and post retirement on certain public sector boards besides other companies. Currently she is an Independent Director on a few listed and unlisted company boards such as Crisil Ltd, Vastu Housing Finance, CMS Information systems and GTNW (a not for profit company). She is currently Chairing the Standing External Advisory Committee on Bank Licences.
H. E. Achim Fabig is currently serving as the Consul General at the German Consulate General in Mumbai since July 2022, he previously held the position of Head of Human Resources (Diplomatic) at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin from July 2018 to July 2022. His diplomatic journey includes serving as Consul General in Chennai from July 2014 to July 2018 and Deputy Head of Human Resources (Diplomatic) in Berlin from July 2009 to June 2014. Notably, he contributed to international relations as First Secretary at the German Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York from August 2006 to July 2009 and as Head of the Consular Department at the German Embassy in Tehran from July 2003 to August 2006. His diverse background also encompasses roles such as Desk Officer for South Asia at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin and Foreign Service Trainee from June 2001 to July 2003. He holds a law degree and has undertaken legal internships, including at the Karlsruhe High Court, and research positions at the Max Planck Institute for International Criminal Law in Freiburg. His international exposure includes internships in New Delhi and Madras, contributing to his well-rounded and globally informed perspective.
Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani is a Co-Founder and Managing Director, Hiranandani Group of Companies. He also heads a distinct Business Unit Hiranandani Communities Dr. Hiranandani, is the son of the Padmabhushan honored ENT specialist Dr. L H Hiranandani. Adding to his professional qualification, he completed his C.A. and his Doctorate in Philosophy – “Housing Revolution in India Challenges and Prospects”. Dr. (Mrs.) Brinda Jagirdar, is an independent consulting economist with specialization in areas relating to Banking and Economics including Agriculture Economics. She is an Independent Director on corporate boards: IDFC FIRST Bank Limited, Rane Brake Lining Limited, Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited, SBI DFHI Limited and Rane Holdings Limited. She is a member of the Depositor Education and Awareness Fund, established by Reserve Bank of India. She is also a member of the Research Advisory Committee of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, Mumbai. She is on the Governing Council of Treasury Elite, a knowledge sharing platform for finance and treasury professionals. She is a member of the Managing Committee of the All-India Bank Depositors Association of the Forum of Free Enterprise. She retired as General Manager and Head of Economic Research, State Bank of India, based at its Corporate Office in Mumbai. In March 2019, Dr. (Mrs.) Brinda Jagirdar was recognized as among India’s Top 100 Women in Finance by the Association of International Wealth Management of India.

Mr. Lakshminarayanan is a global techno-commercial leader across regions and industries recognised for developing scalable businesses in UK, Europe, Japan and India, and has worked across the globe. In a short span at Tata Communications, since October 2019, Lakshmi is re-engineering the company and steering it to deliver strong profitability. The newly defined ‘reimagine’ strategy focuses on platform play, financial fitness, commitments on sustainability, innovation and AI. Under Lakshmi’s leadership, the company is progressing to play a solid role as a digital ecosystem enabler – a digital fabric on which customers can build secure, connected, digital experiences. Prior to joining Tata Communications, Lakshmi was President and CEO of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Japan accelerating the company’s market opportunity and brand in the region. Other leadership positions he has held within TCS include, Global Head of four business units (Telecom, Media & Information Services, HiTech and Utilities), and Head of UK & Europe. An over 35 years Tata Group veteran, engineering graduate from BITS, Pilani, and London Business School senior executive programme alumnus, Lakshmi is an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) long-standing member. He serves on the Board of Tata Teleservices Limited and Tejas Networks Limited and is also the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Nelco Ltd.
Ms. Richa Bhala is the Political-Economic Chief at U.S. Consulate General Mumbai. Most recently, Ms. Richa was the Chief of Staff for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (2022-23). Previously, Richa helped stand up the Venezuela Affairs Unit (VAU) in Bogota (2019-21), following the suspension of operations at U.S. Embassy Caracas where she was Deputy Political Counselor (2018-19). As a Line Officer in the Executive Secretariat (2017-18), she supported execution of the Secretary of State Tillerson and Pompeo's global travel agenda from Baghdad to Helsinki. She has also served as a Political Officer at U.S. Embassy Brasilia (2014-17); a Vice-Consul at U.S. Embassy Islamabad (2013-14); and a Narcotics Affairs Officer at U.S. Embassy Bogota (2010-2012). Ms. Richa Bhala joined the Foreign Service in 2010, following her degree in Economics from Amherst College in Massachusetts. She holds a Master in Public Policy degree from Princeton University. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, and Urdu.
Shaji K. V. assumed charge as Chairman of NABARD on 7th December 2022. Prior to this, he was serving as Deputy Managing Director, NABARD since 21st May 2020 and was instrumental in implementing initiatives like software based supervisory inspection, Data-warehouse, process re-engineering and improvement in the risk management practices besides conceptualising the ambitious scheme of computerising Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS). He also steered the crucial Department of Refinance which recorded an all-time high business level in FY 2021-22 and the Finance Department of NABARD. Before joining NABARD, he worked in Canara Bank in various capacities for 26 years. He has got extensive Board level experience for about 10 years in various organisations viz., National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Ltd. and Canara Bank Securities Ltd., besides being the Chairman of Kerala Gramin Bank, the then largest Regional Rural Bank of the country, and also of NABKISAN Finance Ltd., a subsidiary of NABARD.
Mr. Sitaram Kunte, a retired Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, boasts a stellar career. He served in key roles within the Government of Maharashtra, including Secretary to the Governor, CEO of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, Principal Secretary in various departments, and Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department. Notably, he was the Municipal Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation from 2012 to 2015, overseeing infrastructure projects. Kunte, who entered the IAS in 1985, pursued academic interests alongside his career, studying Public Policy at universities in the UK and the USA. Post-retirement in 2021, he teaches Public Policy, serves on boards, and contributes to non-profit organizations. He currently chairs the Mumbai chapter of the Institute of Directors since July 2023.
Mr. Sanil C. Namboodiripad holds BTech. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with MBA in Finance. He has over 30 years of rich experience in O&M of Gas based combined cycle power plants, Coal fired power plants and EHV Transmission Systems. He started his career with NTPC where he worked for 17 yrs in large gas turbine power plants. Later he worked with Reliance Power with main focus on establishing O&M strategies, Systems and Processes and M&D systems for the power stations being setup by Reliance. He has also worked with Sterlite Power as Head – Asset Mgmt of the pan India EHV transmission assets of Sterlite. Prior to joining OTPC, he was associated with Adani Transmission where he was managing the portfolio of 25 EHV substations and more than 11000 circuit kms of EHV Transmission lines.

Mr. Ovais Sarmad appointed as Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), at the Assistant Secretary-General level.
