Abdullah Mohammed Al Mazrui is an Emirati businessman and entrepreneur from Abu Dhabi. He founded his family business in 1972. Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari was born in 1948 in India. He graduated with Honours from Loyola College Madras, where he was the Student Union President. In 1976; He came to Dubai and formed the Al Dobowi Group. The group today is the leading management services provider in the UAE and has grown to have over 1500 employees and have a significant presence in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Ghana, Europe and Canada. He is a vivid golfer and is a founder member of the Emirates Golf Club, where he was until recently the Club Captain. He is also a founding member of the World Trade Centre Club, on the Board of the Governors of the Indian Sports Club and the Vice President of the Auto Parts Merchants Group. He is also the Chairman of the Guru Nanak Darbar, Sikh Temple, Dubai - the First Sikh Gurudwara in the UAE; to name a few of his activities.

Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the ADGM Registration Authority (RA) in January 2023. In this role, he spearheads the innovation and supervision of registration procedures for both ?nancial and non-?nancial service entities and real estate assets under ADGM's purview, as well as ensuring that ADGM-registered legal entities adhere to the institution’s commercial rules and regulations.

Hon'ble Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi is the Chairman of the Law Commission of India. He was the former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. Following which, he started his legal practice in the year 1987, post his enrolment as Advocate in 1987. Dr. Anup Wadhawan, IAS (Retd.) is an economic and public policy professional with 40 years work experience in various sectors, including the civil service, regulation, academics, private sector, and international development. He spent 36 years in the Indian Administrative Service and served as India's Commerce Secretary for 3 years. During this tenure, he managed India's Foreign Trade Policy, negotiated bilateral, regional and multilateral trade deals, and implemented measures to promote exports and create an investor-friendly environment. He was also responsible for policymaking and oversight in banking, insurance, the national pension system, and capital markets. He played a significant role in framing of the Insurance Laws Amendment Act 2015, which reformed the Indian insurance sector, raised the foreign investment cap, and allowed foreign reinsurers and Lloyds to operate in India. He also oversaw the management of the National Pension System corpus as PFRDA chair, coordinated capital markets policy and regulation with the Securities and Exchange Board and the Reserve Bank of India, promoted foreign portfolio and direct investment flows, and coordinated matters related to the Financial Stability Board, Financial Stability and Development Council, and Financial Action Task Force. During his tenure at the Prime Minister's office, he provided inputs on macroeconomic and sectoral policy reforms in areas like regulation, PPPs, fiscal management, and the power sector.

During his long and distinguished career, Mr. Munjee has been at the helm of creating and building of some of India's foremost financial institutions which stems from his abiding interest in the problems of development in an emerging economy. After being educated in the UK and the US, he began his career with the creation of the first mortgage company in India - the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) - with which he was associated for twenty years, rising to be its Director. At the request of the Chairman of HDFC, he was asked to create a new institution on the lines of HDFC, for infrastructure finance as mortgage finance had come to be well established and the country needed huge investments in infrastructure. After retirement, the Government has appointed him as the first Chairperson of the newly-established ‘International Financial Services Centres Authority’ (IFSCA), a unified financial regulator for international financial centres in India. Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta is an AGMUT (erstwhile J&K) cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Services. He has vast administrative experience in both, Jammu and Kashmir, and the Government of India, where he has displayed an extraordinary acumen as a leader.

He is currently the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. His focus on all-round development of his state is exhibited through his special initiatives for infrastructure development, air connectivity, easy availability of water, agriculture, health, housing & urban development.

Mr. Prabh Das has been single-handedly instrumental in establishing HMEL since its inception, including the formation of the pioneering public-private joint venture. He formally joined HMEL in 2008, and has been instrumental in setting up of the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery project, and its successful operations thereafter. He possesses vast and wide-ranging experience in administration and modern management, having served in the Indian Administrative Services for over 25 years. He is responsible for leading and managing HMEL and its subsidiaries as Managing Director and CEO.

Prior to joining HMEL, Mr. Das served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas from 2003 to 2008, where he was in-charge of the Refineries Division, and was instrumental in implementing the ‘Auto Fuel’ policy, strategic storage and new initiatives in Oil Diplomacy. He led the transformation of the domestic refining sector which included strengthening refining capacities, improving refining operations, safety aspects and introduction of new technologies.

Vice Admiral Narayan Prasad, AVSM, NM IN (Retd.) is the CMD of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd., aptly called “Ship Builder to the Nation”, since 2019. It is one of India’s leading Defence public sector undertaking shipyard under the Indian Ministry of Defence, manufacturing warships and submarines for the Indian Navy, and offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling.

Under his able leadership, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has constructed and delivered a number of state-of-the-art ships, equipped with latest systems and weapons, which have accomplished the dual feat of contributing to strengthening maritime security & protecting national interests. Mr. Peter Ong Boon Kwee plays a key role in steering Enterprise Singapore's efforts to grow stronger Singapore enterprises. He is closely associated with the Board of Directors and executive management team in providing support to Singapore companies looking to build new capabilities and internationalize.

In 2018, Mr. Ong was also appointed Senior Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he provides on economic strategy and policies, as well as champion efforts to enable robust enterprise growth.

Helen Brand is Chief Executive of ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, a post she has held since 2008, with great distinction.

Helen has built her career within professional bodies, and has considerable experience and knowledge of the 179 markets in which ACCA currently operates. She is a founding member of the 'International Integrated Reporting Council' (IIRC) and now sits as Vice-Chair on the IIRC Board. He was Chairman of Virgin Money (2011-2015), Chairman of Prudential plc (2002-2008) and Deputy Governor of the Bank of England for five years. Prior to this, he worked at Kleinwort Benson for 22 years, concluding as Chief Executive.

Sir David's experience of governance issues covers a variety of organisations in both commercial and not-for-profit sectors. He has served on the Board of the Financial Reporting Council, responsible for the Combined Code of Corporate Governance, chaired the Audit Committee of an international FTSE 100 company, Rio Tinto, and acted as Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee at the Royal Opera House.

He has significant experience of regulatory systems. He was Director of the Financial Services Authority, where he carried out a review for the Ministry of Justice of the regulatory framework for legal services in England and Wales, reporting to the Lord Chancellor in 2004. In 2015, he was asked by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport to review the governance and regulatory arrangements for the BBC.

In addition to his stewardship of the BBC, Sir David is Chairman of King's Cross Central Partnership – regenerating the area around King's Cross in one of London's largest redevelopment projects.

He graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He is a Chartered Accountant, and then spent two years at Harvard Business School where he obtained an MBA. He is an Honorary Fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford, and an Honorary Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

He was appointed Knight Bachelor in the New Year Honours list in 2004.

Mr. Mishra is currently working as Secretary in Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. He belongs to 1984 batch of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) from Uttar Pradesh. He has held all important assignments in Union and State Governments, covering Revenue, Internal Security, Vigilance, Civil Aviation, Tourism, Sports, Agriculture, taxation, Medical & Health, Mining and Urban Development. He has been Principal Secretary to the state Chief Minister for over two years. He is a B. Mr. Chaudhuri is an IAS officer (West Bengal cadre) of 1985 batch. He is a scholar-administrator, with a brilliant academic th record, placed in 5 Rank in CBSE Board. He is a B.A. in Economic Honours from St. Stephen's College & M.A. (Economics) from Delhi School of Economics, where he specialized in International Trade. He has the rare distinction of being a Specialist Resource Person' in WTO, UNCTAD, ITC, World Bank, ESCAP & International Organization for Migration (IOM). He regularly writes on International Trade issues in the journal of World Trade, a prestigious publication, as also in Economic Times and Financial Express on International Trade.

He has served as India's Counsellor in Permanent Mission of India to the WTO at Geneva from 2003 to 2006 where he was the Trade Ambassador of India and successfully negotiated several trade agreements for the country. Earlier, he conducted multilateral Trade Negotiations on behalf of India, as Joint Secretary, Commerce. His area of specialization is Multilateral Trade Issues relating to WTO especially Trade in Services & dealing in Rules including Anti-dumping safeguards and subsidies, regional Trading Agreements, Dispute Settlement Mechanism of the WTO, trade in goods and industrial tariffs & bilateral/regional Negotiations of RTAs, FTAs. He was also India's Chief Negotiator for India-ASEAN, India-Malaysia FTAs and India's Deputy representative for India-EU, RCEP Foreign Trade Policy and Industrial Infrastructure and Promotion.

Mr. Shanker is Chairman and MD (CMD) of 'Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and also the Chairman of ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and Joint venture companies namely Mangalore SEZ Limited(MSEZ), ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited(OTPC), ONGC Petro-additions Limited(OPaL), ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited(OMPL) and Member Director in the Board of Petronet LNG Limited(PLL). He is a Petroleum Engineer from Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad and holds an MBA degree. He has studied Executive Education from IIM-Lucknow and ISB-Hyderabad. He is an industry veteran with more than three and half decades of experience in diverse E&P activities. As Chairman, ONGC Group, he successfully spearheaded the HPCL acquisition of 51% Govt. stake to improve ONGC's downstream portfolio.

Under his dynamic leadership, ONGC Videsh made a successful entry overseas, with Indian consortioum acquiring 10% stake in one of Abu Dhabi's biggest offshore oil concessions (Lower Zakum). Through this acquisition, India has secured a share in the oil-rich Emirate's crude production for the first time. Under his guidance, ONGC has taken various path-breaking initiatives to strengthen the IT platforms like SCADA, ERP(ICE), EACS etc. He has conceptualized company-wide project called “DISHA” for creation of a “Paperless office” platform, which has been successfully implemented in ONGC. As CMD of ONGC, his priority is towards developing the East Coast discoveries, rejuvenating the mature fields of Western Offshore and Onshore and Improvement in Reservoir Management. Under his leadership, ONGC made the highest-ever Revenue and record profit, in the last financial year.

He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He joined the Galadari Group, Dubai, a multinational conglomerate in 1980. He has served the company with an impressive career portfolio spanning almost 40 years. Currently, he holds the position of Group Chief Executive Officer of Galadari Brothers LLC and its Subsidiaries.

In 2010, he contributed to set up a Professional Accounting firm that provides a range of services, that assists organizations to adhere to strict financial discipline.

Mr. Kwa Chong Seng was appointed Chairman of the Board in 2016.

Mr. Kwa was the Deputy Chairman of Olam International from 2014, and was promoted to Chairman in 2015. He was the Deputy Chairman of Temasek Holdings from 1997 to 2012 and a non-executive Director of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank from 2003 to 2012. Between 2002 and 2004, he served as non-executive Chairman of the Media Corporation of Singapore.

He has more than 40 years' experience in the Petroleum Industry. He started his career with Esso Singapore in 1969, holding various roles in logistics, marketing and other parts of the downstream business. He was appointed as Chairman and Managing Director in 1992. He held this post until 1999 when he was appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Exxon Mobil Asia Pacific. He retired from this position in 2011.

He is a very distinguished technocrat. In 1994, Mr Kwa was awarded the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award by the National University of Singapore. He studied the working in the system of administration of justice in various countries and visited High Courts and Supreme Courts in USA, England, France, Singapore, Germany and Canada etc.,

He was elevated as Judge in the High Court of Gujarat in 2001 and was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Gujarat in 2015. Later, he was Sworn-in as Judge of Karnataka High Court, Bengaluru in 2016.

Dr. Aruna Sharma is a graduate in Science and holds a Ph.D in Development Economics. During her brilliant career in the lAS, she has specialized in the fields of Finance, Industrial Promotion, Communications & I.T. Her work on 'Resource Convergence' has been published by UNDP.

Before joining the Ministry of Steel, she was Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, where her major contribution was the development of GeM Portal and NSP Scholarship Portal of 16 Departments and 38 schemes of the Govt of India.

Ashish K. Chauhan is the MD & CEO of BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), and was one of the founders of India's National Stock Exchange ("NSE"). He is best known as the 'father of modern financial derivatives' in India, for his work at NSE. He has been instrumental in setting up India's first fully automated screen based trading system, first commercial satellite communications network, and has recently successfully completed the IPO of BSE.

He was appointed as CEO, BSE in 2012. He is credited with reviving BSE, including making it the fastest Exchange in the World, and introduction of Mobile Trading, online real time surveillance system, and introduction of several market leading products. He was also instrumental in setting up First "India International Exchange".

He has won several International and National awards, including: Distinguished Alumnus Award -11M Calcutta, CEO of the Year; Diamond Sabre Awards 2015, Hong Kong; Indian Business Leader of the Year, Switzerland 2015. He holds a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from liT Bombay, and a PGDM from 11M Kolkata. He is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Ryerson University, Canada. Lieutenant General Sunil Kumar Gadeock, AVSM was commissioned into the Brigade of the Guards, Indian Army on 11 June, 1977. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He is Master of Science (Defence Studies), Master of Philosophy and also Diploma in Senior Level Defence Management.

During his distinguished career in the Army, he has held command, staff and instructional appointments, which included command of 12 GUARDS and Commander 23 (I) Armoured Brigade. He was selected for a three year Staff tenure as Logistics Advisor to Botswana Defence Force. His stints as Collector in districts of Dangs, Vadodara, Panchmahals, Banaskantha and Junagadh are notable for his achievements. K. M. Chandrasekhar worked in the Indian Administrative Service from 1970 to 2011. During the last four years of his career, he held the highest position achievable in the Indian civil services, that of Union Cabinet Secretary, reporting directly to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After his retirement in 2011, he was offered a position equivalent to Cabinet Minister in his home State, Kerala, as Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, which he held for the next five years until 2016. He has been Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and Finance Secretary in his State Government. In the Ministry of Commerce, he has worked as Chairman of the Spices Board (of which he was founder chairman), as Joint Secretary (Trade Policy Division) in the Ministry and in two diplomatic assignments abroad.[citation needed] He is on the Boards of ten companies, eight of them in the Tata Group and the others in the health care sector. He has been Chairman of the Federal Bank, President of a medical research institute and hospital under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (the Sri Chithra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum) and currently chairs, in an elected capacity, an economic think tank, teaching and research institution, the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is also Honorary Adviser to an Ayurvedic institution, the Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal. His memoirs are awaiting publication with Harper Collins India and he is now working on his second book.

Jawhar Sircar (born 22 March 1952) is a retired Indian Administrative Services officer, who is prominent as a public intellectual, speaker and writer. He has been elected as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament on 2 August 2021 on an AITC ticket to represent State of West Bengal. He served as chief executive officer in Prasar Bharati from 2012 to 2016 and has been a prominent officer of the Indian Administrative Service officer from 1975. He was Secretary to Government of India (2008–12) and has also held important portfolios in the Central and State governments.

P Joy Oommen is a retired member of the Indian Administrative Service. He holds a post graduate with First Class in Economics from University of Kerala . He also holds a Masters Degree in Development Economics from University of East Anglia, UK. He has attended short term courses in Public Finance at Harvard University, USA and in Sericulture Management at Tsukuba University of Technology, Japan. Mr. G. Srinivasan, Director joined the National Insurance Academy, Pune with effect from 11th December 2018.

Mr. G. Srinivasan has more than 38 years of experience in General Insurance Industry both in India and abroad. A well-known name in the Indian financial sector, he is the longest serving CMD of Public Sector Insurance Companies. His last appointment was that of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the largest Indian Insurer, The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. Prior to joining The New India Assurance Company Ltd. in 2012, he was the Chairman-Cum-Managing Director of The United India Insurance Company Limited. The 1980-batch Haryana cadre IAS officer had almost two years remaining in his tenure as EC. He would have taken over as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) from Sunil Arora.

However, his exit puts EC Sushil Chandra in the fray for the poll watchdog’s top job. Lavasa had had several stints in various government departments, including as secretary in the Union finance ministry. On August 30, 2019 Sinha was appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Prime Minister's Office. And on 11 September 2019, he was appointed as Principal Advisor to Prime Minister of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi. He resigned from the aforementioned post on 16 March 2021 citing personal reasons.

Prof. (Dr.) Arup Roy Choudhury (born 29 December 1956) is a business executive and professor. He worked as the Chairman & MD of NBCC (National Building Construction Corporation), a Navaratna Central Public Sector Company from 3 April 2001 to 31 August 2010, and as Chairman and MD of NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Company from 1 September 2010 to 31 August 2015. Mr Arvind Jadhav, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1978 batch (Karnataka cadre) today assumed charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director of National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL), which runs national carrier Air India.

Born on June 5, 1956, Mr Jadhav did his post-graduation in Geography after graduating from Kanpur University. He did his MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Curtin, Perth, Australia, where he was awarded Gold Medals for being the 'Best All-round Student' and for attaining distinction in 'Strategic Management'. Mr Jadhav also holds post-graduate diplomas in International Trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion from the Italian Institute of Foreign Trade, Rome.

Among the various positions held by him are: Commissioner, Karnataka Housing Board; Secretary, Energy Department; Managing Director, Mysore Minerals Limited and Commissioner, Commerce and Industries Department.

M.N. Vidyashankar was the principal secretary of e-governance for the state of Karnataka, India. Vidyashankar previously worked as chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board, chief electoral officer of Karnataka, commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority, and principal secretary of Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science Technology. Vidyashankar received a master’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in philosophy from the Delhi School of Economics at the University of Delhi and also completed a master’s degree in business administration at Harvard Business School.

Mr. Sri Kumar retired as the Head of the Police force in Karnataka in the rank of DG & IGP in January, 2009. Post retirement, he is assisting the Confederation of Indian Industries in the Southern Region as Head of its Task Force on Internal Security. He is also the Chairperson of the Karnataka Chapter of Cyber Society of India. A public charitabletrust called ‘Indian Centre for Social Transformation’, set up by him, offers e-governance initiatives through use of appropriate and affordable technologies. 20, 000 publicly financed projects in Bangalore City being executed by the Municipal Corporation are under real–time stakeholder scrutiny through a portal established by ICST. This visibility and transparency has helped completion of many projects with minimum cost or time overrun using the principles of professional project management. He is also a member of the Government of India’s committee on Bank Frauds and Capacity Building of IPS Officers in the country.

Yash Raj Chopra (27 September 1932 – 21 October 2012) was an Indian film director and film producer who worked in Hindi cinema. The founding chairman of the film production and distribution company Yash Raj Films, Chopra was the recipient of several awards, including 6 National Film Awards and 8 Filmfare Awards. He is considered among the best Indian filmmakers. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2001, and the Padma Bhushan in 2005. In 2006 British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented him with a lifetime membership, making him the first Indian to receive the honour.

Mr. Anurag Goel is a career civil servant, who joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1972. He has served in Government of India in 6 Ministries viz. Defense, Home, Civil Aviation, Health, Finance and Corporate Affairs, and held various assignments in Uttar Pradesh including as District Magistrate Kanpur, Director, UP Academy of Administration, Nainital and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, UP (1997- 99). He was Secretary, Corporate Affairs for 3 ½ years (2006-09), and on superannuation took up the assignment of Member, Competition Commission of India (CCI) for five years. He is the only person in India who has been involved in all stages of introduction and enforcement of competition regulation in the country.

Mr. Goel has a science background, being a gold-medalist in M. Sc. (Physics) from the University of Allahabad. He has received a number of awards during his service period, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration (being the highest award for civil servants in India), National Citizen’s Award for outstanding contribution in the field of civil aviation, International Quality Summit Award for Excellence and Business Prestige as CMD/CEO, Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd., and a large number of other awards for the MCA-21 e-governance initiative.

Professor Arun Kumar Rath is an Adjunct Professor in the Strategy and Entrepreneurship Area at IIM Nagpur. Prior to this, Dr. Rath was associated with IIM Trichy as Adjunct Professor. Dr. Rath worked as Professor and Dean at IMI New Delhi/Bhubaneswar and also as Chairman, Centre of Excellence in Corporate Governance & Social Responsibility at IMI New Delhi. Prof. Rath worked as Dean & Chairman, Public Policy and Governance at MDI Gurgaon. Before joining MDI Gurgaon, Dr. Rath served as a member of the IAS in the central and state governments in key assignments including Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Secretary Govt. of India and has made significant contributions to Indian administration and corporate governance. Dr. Rath has more than three decades of experience in administration and academics.

Dr. Rath has published number of research articles in the areas of corporate governance, CSR and sustainability. He has published a book “Towards Better Corporate Governance: Independent Directors in the Boardroom”. He authored two unique books “Antarctica Diary and Other Travel Stories” in English and Odia. Dr. Rath’s teaching interests include corporate governance, business ethics, CSR and sustainability. He has taught these course in PGDM, PGDHRM, PGDBFS and PGDM (Executive) and PGDM (Public Policy) programmes at MDI and IMI. He has done consultancy assignments with Dept. of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India. Dr. Rath has trained over 200 CEOs and Directors of companies in the Directors’ Conclave and Directors’ Retreats. He trained over 500 international executives/officials of over hundred countries in the International India Techno Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programmes sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. Dr. Rath also conducted number of middle and senior level MDPs and trained over 6000 executives of companies and departments of central and state governments.

As Director in the Boards of SAIL, NMDC, MECON and Vizag Steel and as Independent Director in the Boards of Coad India, MCL and Mangalore Refinery, Dr. Rath contributed to better performance of the blue chip PSUs.

Mr. Dharam Vir joined IAS in 1973, after B.Sc. (Hons) Physics in 1969 from IIT Kharagpur, M.Sc. Physics in 1971 from IIT Kanpur & doing research in Physics for 2 years at the same institute. During service, he did MBA from University of Leeds in 1988 under the British Colombo Plan.

He retired as Chief Secretary in State Government of Haryana, India, after working for 36+ years at several positions (Secretary, Director, MD etc.) in government, public sector undertakings, VC of 2 universities & Director of Board of Governors of several educational institutions. Mr. Dharam Vir also attended several in-service training programs in India & abroad, participated in national/international conferences.

Written & published articles on governance, education and science & technology in leading news papers. In 2011, he coauthored a book on IIT Kharagpur, which was released in 2011 by India’s Prime Minister at IITKgp’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations After retirement on Oct 31, 2009, he was appointed State Election Commissioner (Nov. 9, 2009) for a period of five years to supervise and conduct elections to panchayati raj institutions (rural bodies) & municipal bodies. He finally retired in April, 2015.

During 42+ years of service in government & State Election Commission, at operational and policy making positions, he have gained enormous insight in the formulation and execution of public policy, programs & projects, relationship between government and public, etc.

Prodipto Ghosh is involved in research and teaching at the interface of science, economics, philosophy, and public policy. Currently, he is Distinguished Fellow at TERI. He is concurrently member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Cabinet, and Governing Council of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. He has earlier been member of the National Security Advisory Board, PMs Council on Climate Change, G 20 Advisory Group of the Ministry of Finance, and the CAGs Audit Advisory Committee. He is Adjunct Faculty at the Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh (where he lectures on Indian macroeconomic policy and public finance), TERI University (where he teaches a post-graduate course on Normative Ethics), and Visiting Fellow at the Smith College, Oxford (with whom he is engaged in collaborative policy research).

He was a member of the IAS from 1969 to 2007, when he retired as Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests. He has also held the positions of Economic Advisor and Additional Secretary to the PM, Additional Secretary at the DEA, and Senior Environment Specialist at the Asian Development Bank, Manila. He was a member of India's negotiating team at the UNFCCC climate change negotiations from 2001 to 2012. He is the author of a number of peer reviewed research papers, and several newspaper articles.

He has a Ph.D and M.Phil in Economics and Policy Analysis from the Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi, and has received Alumni Achievement Awards from both institutions. He is also the recipient of the BP Pal Centenary Memorial Award.

Earlier, Atul held leadership positions in China, driving accelerated growth and transforming China into the 3rd largest Coca-Cola business in volume-terms worldwide. As Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministries of Civil Aviation, Tourism and Culture, he was on the boards of Air India, Indian Airlines, Airports Authority of India, Helicopter Corporation of India and India Tourism Development Corporation. His posting as District magistrate Allahabad and Varanasi brought him closer to the people and their problems. Later he was chosen to work as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He also served as Vigilance Secretary in the State.

His stint with the Government of India started as Director of the Enforcement Directorate dealing with Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) where he worked with utmost sincerity and brought powerful FERA offenders to book, making the Directorate known all over the country. Later he worked in the Ministry of Finance as Joint Secretary on two occasions.

Smt. Asha Swarup is an Independent Director of REC since February 8, 2017. She is a retired IAS officer of 1973 batch from Himachal Pradesh cadre, post graduate from Delhi University and Pearson Fellow of IDRC, Canada. She has served as Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (2007-08) and Chief Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh (2008-10).

Post retirement, she has served as Chairperson of HP State Environment Impact Assessment Authority, member of the Expert Group set up by Cabinet Secretariat to finalize the Result Frame work document of Ministries and the Expert Group to finalize the annual targets for Oil sector PSUs by Department of Public Enterprises. She has also been an Independent Director on the Board of SJVN Limited. She also holds Directorship on the Board of Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam.

Mr. R. S. Sharma holds Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Delhi University. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountant of India and an associate member of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He also attended various management programs in India and overseas more specific to Oil and Gas Industry & Management Strategies. Mr. Sharma has over four decades of rich experience in Banking, Finance & Treasury in India and abroad. He had joined Union Bank of India in 1972 with experience in branch banking and specialization in Credit Appraisal. Further, he was the member of middle level finance team of another PSU engaged in construction in roads and bridges in foreign countries, including functioning as Regional Head of Finance for Iraq region from October 1982 to July 1986. He had joined Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) in 1988 and handled various key areas of his expertise like Financial Management, Financial Appraisal, Project Appraisals, Treasury Management at middle and senior level in various Projects as well as the Corporate Office. Further, he had been appointed as Director - Finance of ONGC in 2002 and also headed the additional position of Director - Finance of ONGC Videsh Limited and rose to the position of Chairman & Managing Director of ONGC in May, 2006. He had been a member of various Committees like Search Committee for Selection of Chairman & Members of Competition Commission of India, Committee constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to formulate a Policy Document on Corporate Governance, Chairperson of Quality Review Board, Institute of Cost Accountants of India and Chairperson of expert committee constituted by MCA to examine issues relating to maintenance of Cost Records & Cost Audit. Presently, he is associated with Mckinsey & Company Inc as Senior Advisor and mentor of Hydrocarbon Committee, FICCI.

Mr. Arun Balakrishnan is the former Chairman and Managing Director of one of India's largest oil refining and marketing companies - Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) ? a position he has held since April 1, 2007. Prior to this, he held various positions in marketing, corporate, and HR functions across the country, including the Director of Planning, Oil Coordination Committee; General Manager, International Operations; and, Executive Director,Direct Sales.

Jagdish Khattar, a top-rated officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Khattar, who had a BA from Delhi’s St Stephen’s College and a law degree from Delhi University, had started off as a district magistrate in Uttar Pradesh’s Chamoli in 1969. He served as MD of the UP State Industrial Development Corporation, chairman of the Tea Board and CMD of the UP State Cement Corporation before rising to joint secretary at the ministry of steel in the Government of India. “Khattar had done very well in the [IAS], and had industrial experience too, so he was an obvious choice,” Bhargava told INDIA TODAY, remembering the friend and colleague of several years who passed away on April 26 after a cardiac arrest at the age of 78.

He has been Chairman-cum-Managing Director of North East Electric Power Corporation, and a Board Member of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Gas Authority of India, Indian Oil, Powergrid, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, Power Finance Corporation, Bhakra Beas Management Board, Haryana State Electricity Board, Tala Hydro Power Authority Bhutan, Bharat Electronics Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation, Power Trading Corporation of India and various other Corporations. He initiated the 50, 000 MW initiative on Hydro Power 2003, and was instrumental in ensuring capacity addition start up of nearly 60, 000 MW between 2007 and 2009 in India.

GAIL marketing director UD Choubey has taken over as the chairman and managing director of the gas PSU. He was heading the marketing division of the company since May 2004, was selected from among half a dozen aspirants to head the gas transmission and distribution utility by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PSEB). The Cabinet Committee of Appointments subsequently ratified the recommendation of the PSEB.

He joined GAIL in 1986 and is a known figure in the natural gas business, is a doctorate in hydrocarbons from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, a post-graduate in chemistry from Patna University, an MBA from Indian Institute of Business Management, Patna and an LLB from the University of Delhi.

Choubey joined GAIL in its formative period and has been associated with the marketing department since then. He was the first director (marketing) of the PSU and was responsible for marketing GAIL's complete range of products and services in the field of natural gas. He has also authored a book, Text Book on Natural Gas, is widely traveled and has represented the country and presented papers at a number of national and international conferences.

Throughout his professional career, He has played a leading role in the development of gas-related policies and is held in high regard by various stakeholders in the natural gas business.

Dr. P Mohamed Ali is an NRI business tycoon and a highly honoured technocrat who found his humble origins in Thrissur, Kerala. Brij Behari Lal Butail (or BBL Butail) is an Indian Politician from Palampur. He was MLA of Palampur and he was the 12th Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He retired from politics in 2017 and his son Ashish Butail was elected as MLA of Palampur in January 2018.

He passed away peacefully yesterday with his family beside him and the last rites will be performed today, at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai.

Nair established The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts in 1987 in Mumbai, aged 65. Previously, while in charge of his father-in-law’s handloom business, which he grew into India’s largest garment exporting house, Nair’s frequent business trips exposed him to the world of luxury hospitality.

The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts was inspired by his strong belief in India’s ability to compete with the world’s premier travel destinations. He was dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and advancement of tourism in India.

Thottuvelil Krishna Pillai Ayappan Nair (born in 1939) is a career civil servant who formerly served as Adviser to the Prime Minister of India with the rank of the Minister of State. He also previously served as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister of India.

Mrityunjay Athreya is an Indian author, educationist and management advisor, widely regarded as one of the founders and pioneers of Indian Management movement and education. Ranjana Kumar (born December 10, 1945) is an Indian banker who served as Vigilance Commissioner in Central Vigilance Commission and Chairperson of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). She had begun her banking career in 1966 as a probationary officer in Bank of India where she served in various positions. When the Government of India appointed her as the Chairperson and managing Director of the Indian Bank, she became the first woman to become head of a public sector bank in India.

Shri I.I.M.S Rana will be the new Chairman of the Railway Board and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India. He will be taking over on 31st of this month from the present Chairman and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India.

Born on 8th June 1943 at Delhi, Shri Rana graduated from the Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in 1963 with Honours and was a Silver Medalist. Presently he is serving as Member Engineering, Railway Board.

After a brief stint with IISCO at Burnpur, West Bengal in 1963, Mr. Rana joined Indian Railways in 1964 in the cadre of Indian Railway Service of Engineers after securing the top position in the All Indian Engineering Service Examination.

During his long service career of 37 years, Mr. Rana successfully handled a large number of challenging assignments like Construction of Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala, the largest coach factory of world, in record time of 2 years only, Giddalaur-Nandyal gauge conversion project, Goa gauge conversion project in an extremely tight time schedule and was the Divisional Railway Manager of Danapur Division of Eastern Railway in Bihar for more than 3 years. During his tenure, Danapur Division showed all-round improvement in all spheres. During his tenure as GM, Eastern Railway, the Railway faced the worst ever flood damages. Under his leadership, the officers and staff successfully rescued over 1000 passengers from the marooned Teesta Torsa Express at Swadinpur, which was inundated by flash flood. Rescuing operation was done in almost waist-deep water and flood restoration work was carried out in record time.

Mr. Shahi held the position of Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Power for nearly five years from April 2002 to January 2007. In this position, he was responsible for policy initiatives and implementation for the entire Power Sector (1,68,000 MW capacity) in India. During his tenure, the Indian Power Sector went through a major restructuring with the institution of the Electricity Act, 2003 and subsequent National Electricity Policy, 2005 and National Tariff Policy, 2006. Other major initiatives launched include the Accelerated Power Development & Reform Programme (2002), Rural Electrification Policy (2005), Ultra Mega Power Policy (2006) and Merchant Power Policy (2006). Mr. Shahi was directly responsible for the long-term planning and operational performance of the Central Public Sector Undertakings viz. National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, Tehri Hydro Development Corporation, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, Bhakra Beas Management Board and Damodar Valley Corporation. He was also President of the Governing Council of Central Power Research Institute, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Chairman of the Governing Council of National Power Training Institute having 5 large Training Institutes in various parts of the country.

Kapil Sibal (born 8 August 1948) is an Indian lawyer and politician. Sibal has represented several high-profile cases in the Supreme Court of India and is widely regarded as one of the famous lawyers of India. He is a Member of Parliament, in Rajya Sabha.

A University of Delhi and Harvard University graduate, Sibal has practiced law in Wall Street and held several important posts relating to law and administration including Additional Solicitor General, and President of Supreme Court Bar Association. Sibal first entered Rajya Sabha in 1998 to represent Bihar. Before that, he had unsuccessfully contested for the Lok Sabha against Sushma Swaraj. He later contested from Chandni Chowk and won in 2004 and 2009.

As a senior Indian National Congress member then, Sibal served under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a minister holding various portfolios over the years. As minister, he headed delegations of India in high-profile international forums. His actions in official capacity were controversial multiple times including when he undertook to regulate internet content. Sibal often was portrayed as an intellectual face of the Congress who batted for the party on television and in regular columns.

In the Supreme Court of India, he usually represented the Congress. He left the Indian National Congress in 2022 to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha independently but backed by Samajwadi Party.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi (born 24 February 1959) is an Indian lawyer and politician. As politician, he is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and a current Member of the Parliament of India representing West Bengal in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament. Vijay Kumar Chaturvedi is an Indian mechanical engineer and a nuclear power expert. He is a former Chairman and Managing Director of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). He did his graduate studies in mechanical engineering at Vikram University- Samrat Ashok Technological Institute in 1965 and secured a master's degree in nuclear engineering from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Training School, Trombay.

After superannuating from NPCIL, Chaturvedi joined the Reliance Industries, served in such various capacities as that of a Director of New Power of Reliance Energy Limited, a Non-Executive of Reliance Power Limited, Director of the New Power at Reliance Infrastructure Limited and as a Non-Executive Director of Reliance Infrastructure Limited and serves the company as a member of its various committees.

Chaturvedi is a former member of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and has chaired the Tokyo Centre of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). He has also been a member of the Board of Governors of WANO for two years. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2001.

He was the Chairman and MD from May 2001-2006, ONGC's market capitalisation increased more than 10 times to Rs 200,000 crore, and became the leader among all public and private sector companies in India in terms of networth.

In a strange coincidence, the year Raha was denied an extension as ONGC's boss (in 2006) also saw the company lose its coveted position as the nation's most valuable company.

Manju Sharma (born 13 December 1940) is an Indian bio-technologist and administrator of several scientific research and policy-making bodies in India. She was most recently the president and executive director at the Indian Institute of Advanced Research in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. She earlier served as the secretary, Department of Biotechnology, in the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology,[1] and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2007. Some credit Sharma with pioneering biotechnology research in India. She played a significant role in establishing several institutions in the country, including the National Institute of Immunology, the National Institute of Plant Genome Research, the Biomass Research Centres at Lucknow and Madurai, the Plant Molecular Biology Unit in University of Delhi and the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics.

Dr. S. Narayan, IAS (Retd.) has to his credit nearly four decades (1965 to 2004) of public service in the State and Central Governments, in Development Administration. Lastly (2003-04), he was Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister and was responsible for implementation of economic policies of several Ministries. Prior to this assignment, he was in Government of India as Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary, Secretary in the Departments of Revenue, Petroleum, Industrial Development and Coal, since 1997.

Between 2000 and 2003, he was in the Ministry of Finance with responsibilities for formulation of macro-economic policy for the Government, tariff and taxation policies, as well as initiatives for modernising the capital markets. In December 2002, he was selected as Chairman of a Study Group constituted by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to review the system of performance appraisal, promotion, empanelment and placement procedures for All India Services i.e. IAS, IPS and IFOS and Group’ A’ services of the Government of India. The recommendations of the Study Group were submitted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister in July 2003 and have been frequently highlighted in the Media as “Surinder Nath Committee Report”. Most of these recommendations have been accepted by the Government of India and are now under implementation. He was also a member of another Study Group constituted by the PMO in 2006 for designing and planning in-service training for IAS officers at junior, middle and senior level. The recommendations of the Study Group have been accepted and already implemented. Lt. Gen. Surinder Nath is also member of the Advisory Council, VGSOM, IIT, Kharagpur. He completed his M.Sc. in Defence Studies from Madras University and M.A.in International Relations from Allahabad University.

V K Mittal has been appointed as joint managing director of Ispat Industries Ltd. The appointment was approved by shareholders yesterday at the annual general meeting after being put to vote as an ordinary resolution.

Speaking to Business Standard, P K Mittal, vice chairman and managing director of Ispat Industries said that V K Mittal would oversee the company's Mumbai operations and monitor the implementation of its ongoing hot rolled coil project at Dolvi. P K Mittal, himself, will continue to be in charge of supervising the company's overall activities. and expansion in other identified business areas.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) member (personnel and vigilance) Ravi Kant took over as acting chairman of the board recently in a top level reshuffle.

Ravi Kant was the natural choice for the position as he was the senior-most official in the board, second only to outgoing chairman S N Shende who relinquished the post as he went on a deputation to the United Nations. Shende had taken over from Govind K Misra who was posted as advisor, Planning Commission. Shende held the chairmans post for about a month.

Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam was an Indian aerospace scientist and statesman who served as the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007. He was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was intimately involved in India's civilian space programme and military missile development efforts. He thus came to be known as the Missile Man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology. He also played a pivotal organisational, technical, and political role in India's Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.
