Justice M N Venkatachaliah, National Chairman of Executive Council of Institute of Directors, was a former Chief Justice of India. He was Chairman of the Human Rights Commission. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Science and in Law from the University of Mysore. He commenced general practice of law in the year 1951, and was appointed Permanent Judge of the High Court of Karnataka w.e.f. 6.11.1975 and Judge of the Supreme Court of India w.e.f. 5.10.1987. Subsequently, he was appointed Chief Justice of India w.e.f. 12.2.1993 and retired on 24.10.1994. He was 25th Chief Justice of India. Even after his retirement; he has continued to work on anti-corruption and human rights issues, including support for the launch of the Initiatives of Change Centre for Governance.
Hon'ble Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi was the former Chairman of the Law Commission of India. He was the former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. A leading legal luminary who has had an illustrious journey in the field of law, Justice Awasthi graduated in law from Lucknow University in the year 1986. Since beginning, his expertise included civil, service and education matters at the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court. Hon'ble Justice Awasthi was also nominated as the Senior Judge at High Court in Lucknow in 2021. Thereafter he was elevated as Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court in 2021. During his tenure as a distinguished Judge for more than 13 years, Hon'ble Justice Awasthi decided around 44,000 cases out of which more than 600 judgements were approved for reporting. Most of the cases decided by him had nationwide impact, as well as international relevance.
Dr. Rajneesh Goel is a 1986-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka Cadre and is the current Chief Secretary of Karnataka. Prior to assuming the role of Chief Secretary he was the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in the Home Department of the Government of Karnataka. He has an exceptional track record and experience in various key administrative roles, including his concurrent charge as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Uday Umesh Lalit was born on 9th November, 1957. He enrolled as an Advocate in June, 1983 and practised in the High Court of Bombay till December, 1985. Following which shifted his practice to Delhi in January, 1986. In 2004 he was designated as Senior Advocate by the Supreme Court of India where he appeared as Amicus Curiae in many matters. He was appointed, Special Public Prosecutor for CBI to conduct trial in all 2G matters under the orders of the Supreme Court and was also the Member of the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee for two terms. On 13th August, 2014 he was appointed Judge of the Supreme Court of India. He was Executive Chairperson of National Legal Services Authority from May, 2021 to 27th August, 2022 and thereafter Patron-in-Chief till 8th November, 2022. He was appointed as Chief Justice of India on 27th August, 2022. He retired on 8th November, 2022
Mr. D. V. Prasad joined the Indian Administrative Services in 1984. During his 36 years in the IAS, he has held various positions in both the Government of Karnataka and as well in Government of India. Before his retirement, he held the post of Chairman and MD of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) at the level of Secretary to the Government of India. He has served in various departments as Addl. Chief Secretary & Secretary in the Government of Karnataka and also as Joint & Addl. Secretary in Government of India. He has served as a director on the boards of several companies in the public sector and also in the private sector companies. He has displayed his negotiation skills in the formulation of free trade and comprehensive agreements representing India in trade negotiations with other countries. He holds a Bachelor's as well as a Master's degree in History from the University of Delhi. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Madras.
Dr. Shalini Rajneesh is currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary cum Development Commissioner, Govt. of Karnataka. She was the top-ranking woman of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 1989 batch, boasts an illustrious academic journey. A gold medallist in Psychology from Punjab University, she pursued her MBA at Latrobe University, Australia, and attained a Ph.D. in Rural Development from Mangalore University. Her academic pursuits also led her to complete a program in Public Service Reform and E-Governance at Duke University, USA. She has authored 13 books, spanning subjects such as Management, Personality Development, Women Empowerment, and IAS Coaching, with 8 titles in English and 5 in Kannada. Her commitment to public service extends beyond the written word. Through frequent articles, lectures, and media appearances on TV and radio, she engages with the public on matters of significant interest. Her tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Belgaum District witnessed her exceptional leadership during the worst floods of the century, showcasing her adept crisis management skills. Her notable contributions include steering the revolutionary "Sakala" Project under the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act, 2011, earning her the prestigious PRIME Minister Award for Excellence in Civil Services.
Mr. N. Balram IRS was appointed as the CMD of The Singareni Collieries Company Limited in January 2024. An Indian Revenue Service Officer, he is also the Director Finance of Singareni. Along with finance, he is also taking care of the welfare responsibilities. Through open dialogue and a commitment to improving worker welfare, he fostered a more collaborative environment, allowing SCCL to focus on operational improvements. A significant achievement under his leadership was achieving 100% operational efficiency for the first time in SCCL’s history. Furthermore, the company embarked on a 500 MW solar power project, with 300 MW already completed and another 200 MW planned. This initiative not only reduced dependence on fossil fuels but also positioned SCCL as a leader in clean energy solutions.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta is the Managing Director at Shalimar Paints, India’s leading and most iconic paint manufacturer. In his role at the organization, he oversees the overall operations of the brand while also framing successful growth strategies for the brand. Holding a Master’s degree in Physics and PGDBA, he is an industry veteran with over three decades of experience in leadership positions at reputed organizations including SAIL, Jindal Industries, Surya Roshni, Arcelor Mittal etc., specializing in driving business transformation, growth, and profitability. These funds, made available as working capital, have helped Shalimar Paints become EBITDA positive in the current financial year and register a year-on-year business growth of more than 30%. Mr. Naveen G.V is an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Management professional with 23+ years of experience spanning across Government, Consulting, and Industry sectors. He is currently the Global Development Officer & Managing Director, AAPAC for Benchmark Digital Partners LLC, US & Benchmark ESG Pvt. Ltd., India, a US headquartered Company offering software solutions to global customers in managing their Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) program. He is a thought leader in the ESG, EHS, and technology landscape offering his expertise on the power of digital transformation in taking an organization’s EHS and ESG programs to success. In his earlier role, he was an EHS Leader at General Electric (GE) in Bangalore and has a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and is also a Lead Auditor for ISO 14001: Environmental Management System and RC 14001: Responsible Care Management System covering environmental, health, safety, security, product stewardship and outreach activities.
Mr. Anupam Joshi is a trained ecologist having wide experience in the fields of ecosystem analysis, biodiversity conservation, protected area management, habitat restoration, impact assessments and evaluations. He received his Ph.D. from University of Delhi in 1997 and since then has worked with the Government of India (Planning Commission), Civil Society, Private Sector (as a freelance environment and management consultant) and with multilateral donor agency (The World Bank – since 1997). Presently, as a Senior Environmental Specialist in the World Bank, he is a Team Leader for managing two complex multi-state projects on Biodiversity Conservation, Natural Resource Management and Livelihood Improvement spanning a total of 9 Indian States. In addition he is also preparing two GEF funded projects on Improving Ecosystem Services and Sustainable Land Management. He also supports other Bank operations wherein his primary responsibilities include providing environmental safeguard support to ensure that investments are sustainable and do not result in adverse impacts. He has provided technical support in developing a range of research based knowledge products as well as acted as a trainer on various capacity building efforts on environmental and conservation topics.
Mr. N. Jayaram IAS is the Commissioner for Bangalore Development Authority. Mr. N Jayaram is an IAS officer of 2004 batch, who served as the secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was also the Chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
Mr. Chandru Kalro, an engineer by academic qualification, started his career with BPL limited, Chennai as a front line sales and handled several product categories that included testing and measuring instruments, office automation and telecom products. He then moved to the head office after four years of sales into marketing of all instrumentation products including the cardiac care equipment marketing. He then joined TTK as product manager and moved up quickly to general manager marketing in two and a half years. He was the youngest General Manager in the history of the group. Currently he is the Managing Director of the company and has played a key role in moving the company from a south based, south focused company in just pressure cookers to becoming India's largest and most profitable kitchen appliance company. The journey of the company has been from a turnover of 113 crores in 2003 to 2100 crores today. He has won several awards like being the Pride of Karnataka in marketing, India's top 50 most talented CMOs, Thought leadership in Marketing, Corporate leadership award, Great leader award by WCRC international, India's best trusted CEO in kitchen appliances to name a few.
Mr. Chetan Maini, entrepreneur and technologist, is currently the Chairman and Co-founder of SUN Mobility. He founded Reva Electric Car Company (now Mahindra Reva) in 1995 and has been globally acknowledged as a pioneer in the domain of electric vehicles. Under his leadership, the company sold thousands of vehicles in 24 countries, and was ranked as one of the 50 most innovative companies in the world by Fast company magazine. He has over 20 years’ experience in electric, hybrid and solar vehicles and has applied for/been granted over 30 global patents. He played an instrumental role in advising the Government of India on EV policy. This comprises his work with India’s National Board of Electric Mobility, Technology Advisory Group (TAG) on Electric Mobility, and the committee of Jt. Secretaries. He has received several accolades including BBC Top Gear ‘Man of the Year’ award, ‘Innovation award’ in Energy and Environment by The Economist in London, ‘Top 50 most influential Indians’ to bring about change by BusinessWeek magazine, Young Global Leader (WEF), and was the Chairman of Personal Mobility Council. He is currently a director at Maini Group and co-founder of Virya Mobility 5.0.
Mr. Rajesh Mittal is President and Manging Director of Isuzu Motors India and President of Isuzu Engineering Business Centre India and and an executive board member of both the companies. In his earlier role, He was heading Logistics at UD Trucks Corp., Japan prior to this assignment. Mr. Mittal brings 38 years of technical, business and operations experience predominantly in the commercial vehicles industry, across global markets. He has played vital roles in the automotive technology domain and supply chain logistics also. He has held various senior management roles within Volvo Group Trucks Asia, Dong Feng Commercial Vehicles in China, and Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles in India. He is a Mechanical Engineer and a Cost Accountant. He has also completed a professional course in Leadership at LEEDS Business School, UK.
Mr. Santhosh Muzumdar leads Government Relations and Sustainability for Johnson Controls in India. He is also a board member of a Johnson Controls entity in India. Orchestrating Johnson Controls’ efforts to tailor the best of decarbonisation technologies and business models from across the globe to India’s needs is one of his key focus areas. He has more than 23 years of multi-industrial and wide geographical experience. He is actively involved in policy formation in central and state governments across India and represents the built environment industry across industry associations, think tanks and government institutions. With a focus on safety, security and sustainability in the buildings sector, he works with World Economic Forum’s Net Zero Carbon Cities in emerging markets, CII’s Net Zero Council, AMCHAM energy committee, BIS standards committees among others. He has authored several white papers and articles in leading magazines on topics related to sustainable cities, advanced traffic management systems, fire protection in buildings and others. Before joining Johnson Controls, Santhosh worked at Underwriters Laboratories India (UL) in various roles of increasing responsibility, his last assignment was leading UL’s Asia operations for Fire Protection Services.
Mr. Keerthi Prakash is Managing Director of Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) and leads operations at the company's Alliance plant in Chennai, India. He joined the plant in 2008 and has over 22 years of automotive manufacturing experience. Keerthi joined RNAIPL as Bodyshop Manager in 2008 before being promoted to Senior Manager – Stamping, Body, Trim & Chassis Assembly in 2010. Following promotion to Vice President – Vehicle Production & Plant Engineering in 2016, he undertook an overseas assignment at Nissan's headquarters in Japan, returning to Chennai in 2021 when he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Control & Parts Arrangement.
Mr. Prabhash Chandra Ray IFS is the Principal Secretary for Forests in the Karnataka Forest Department of Government of Karnataka. A 1993 batch, Indian Forest Service Officer, Mr. Ray was earlier also appointed as the Member-Secretary of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.
Mr. Vinayak Pai is currently the MD & CEO of Tata Projects Limited. Prior to Tata Projects, he has worked in US & Europe leading global businesses in over 50 countries, first as President – ECR at Jacobs and later as Group President Energy and Chemical Services business at Worley. A respected voice in the industry, he is the Vice-Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Maharashtra and Chairman of the National committee of Roads & Highways. He is on the Board of Governors of CIDC for the term 2023-25. He is also the President of Construction Federation of India (CFI) and in the past has been a member of Executive Leader World 50 and a Commissioner at the Energy Transition Commission UK. An alumnus of the College of Engineering (Pune) and Symbiosis College, holds an Executive MBA from IIT Bombay’s Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management. He is also a member of the board of Governors of COEP Technology University. His contributions have earned him accolades including the Hall of Fame Award as an Infra Industry Leader by Construction Week, and the 15th CIDC Vishwakarma Doyen of the Industry 2024 award.
Mr. Satyaki Raghunath took on the role of Chief Operating Officer of BIAL in November 2023. Previously, he served as the Chief Strategy & Development Officer of BIAL for over five years. In his current role, he is responsible for the overall operational delivery, customer experience, and strategy & development of BLR Airport. He came to BIAL with over two decades of experience across the aviation and transport industry globally, advising on business, finance, strategy, commercial, regulatory and project-related initiatives for airlines and operators of aviation and transport infrastructure. He is a licensed architect and an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley and the Harvard Business School.
Mr. Sailesh is a former Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India and former Member, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), Department of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India. He has also served as Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was elected as President of Association of National Census and Statistics Directors of America, Asia and Pacific (ANCSDAAP) from 2016 to 2018. His long experience in the power sector, in the Government of India, included handling the mega hydro projects, Tehri, Indira Sagar, Dulhasti, etc. and resolving the complex issues associated with them. He has vast administrative experience of more than 39 years having worked in senior positions in both Government of India and Government of Assam. As Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, he was instrumental in path breaking reforms designed to assess the performances of the Central Public Sector Enterprises based on market parameters with an objective to enhance the shareholders’ value. As a member of PESB, was also instrumental in selecting the best talent for the board level positions in Central Government companies and evolving a framework for leadership development and succession planning.
Ms. Avantika Saraogi, a distinguished graduate from Scripps College in Claremont, USA, is a trailblazer in sugarcane and bioplastics at Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (BCML), where she represents the fourth generation of her promoter family. Her visionary leadership is focused on establishing India’s first ever PLA (Polylactic Acid) manufacturing facility, leveraging sugarcane as a renewable resource. This pioneering project, set to commence operations in 2026 with a global capacity of 75,000 tonnes annually, marks a significant environmental milestone. Under her guidance, BCML has advanced in PLA production, sugarcane operations, and sustainability initiatives. She has orchestrated strategic partnerships, cultivated talent, and secured governmental support to propel sustainable business growth. Her multifaceted role spans procurement, grower relations, strategy, technology, mechanization, and communications, elevating BCML to new industry heights. Beyond business success, she is dedicated to fostering sustainability across sugarcane cultivation and processing. Her endeavors reflect a commitment to environmental stewardship, aiming to reduce the ecological footprint of BCML’s operations while driving innovation in the bioplastics sector.
Dr. Gopiprasad Srinivasan is an urbanist currently leading the ESG initiative at Provident Housing Limited. He is based in Bengaluru, bringing over two decades of invaluable experience in urban development, planning, and real estate. Throughout his career, Dr.Gopiprasad has engaged with the public and private sectors, holding various leadership roles that have given him a unique, 360-degree perspective on development and sustainability challenges and opportunities. With a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the University of Mysore and a Master's degree from the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi and the National Law. He's a familiar face in expert committees and has worked on the conceptualization and implementation of sustainable development at the World Bank, USAID, the Asian Development Bank and Indo-French protocol. At Provident, Dr. Gopiprasad has been instrumental in putting together a workable net zero plan for 2031 and is overseeing the implementation across the organization. Mr. Swapnesh Maru has joined Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. On 9-Aug-1999. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd (TKM) is a joint venture between Mr. Vikram S. Kirloskar (through Kirloskar Systems) of India and Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan. Mr. Maru is a Deputy Managing Director on board of TKM and heads Manufacturing, Corporate Planning and Finance & Accounts. His work experience with TKM spans for more than 20 years and he has worked in Sales and Commercial Functions besides working for 3 years at Toyota’s regional office in Thailand. Mr. Ovais Sarmad appointed as Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), at the Assistant Secretary-General level. The appointment has been made after consultation with the Conference of Parties through its Bureau. Mr. Sarmad will succeed Richard Kinley of Canada, to whom the Secretary-General and the Executive Secretary are grateful for his dedicated service to United Nations climate change efforts over the past 20 years. Mr. Sarmad, who currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), brings to the position nearly 27 years of experience with IOM, where he worked in several policy and management areas to strengthen the Organization's operational effectiveness in close consultation with IOM Member States. He was instrumental in the establishment of the organization's Ethics and Conduct Office and was a key team member negotiating the agreement which brought the IOM into the United Nations System.
Mr. Sathyamoorthy’s career trajectory of 54 years has expanded his extramural horizons. Qualified as an Arbitrator, Elected as Honorary Executive Director of Anti-Corruption Academy of India, Appointed Director in Pasupati Acrylon Ltd, Chaired APS Management Consultants (P) Ltd, became Management Trustee of Chennai Age Care. He has specialized in Banking, Economics, Auditing, and Accounting. A qualified civil service professional having served in prestigious roles in the Indian Government. He has served in the ministries of Government of India and in the offices of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. During his tenure, he gained exposure and experience, particularly in the Ministry of Shipping, and Ministry of Human Resources. He led the Indian Delegations to Singapore, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Turkmenistan, and Peru. His creative writing blossomed into 17 books and a weekly column for ten years. His rich experience in SEBI regulations, Alternative Investment route, Company Law Prescriptions, and CSO’s has helped TCG to strengthen their fund and portfolio compliance regulations.
Dr. Zelalem Birhanu Taffesse joined UNICEF Hyderabad Field Office on 26th June 2023. Previously, he held the position of Chief of Field Office in the Solomon Islands Office at the Fiji Pacific Islands Multi-country Office. With a background as a Medical Doctor specializing in Surgery and Public Health, Dr. Zelalem has over 15 years of management experience leading diverse teams. His experience spans 2 decades of work in the Public Sector, with NGOs and International Organizations in diverse settings.
Mr. Santosh Wakhloo is a marketing professional with 30 years of expertise in Marketing and Sales, predominantly with 27 years in the paper industry. He is currently serving as the Executive Director (Marketing) at TNPL, he has honed his skills through notable stints with industry giants including ITC Ltd., BILT, and JK Paper. His career highlights include a 16-year tenure as Head of Marketing and Sales and Product Development at JK Paper Ltd. His proficiency extends across diverse paper grades such as Printing & Writing Paper, Coated Paper, Copier Paper, Packaging Boards, and Specialty Papers. His academic journey includes a PGPMAX from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, complemented by an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Jammu University, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar.

MRPL's Refinery is capable of producing almost a full range of petroleum products like Naphtha, LPG, Motor Spirit, High-Speed Diesel, Kerosene, Aviation Turbine Fuel, Sulphur, Xylene, Bitumen along with Pet Coke and Polypropylene. MRPL's 440 KTA Novolen gas-phase Polypropylene Plant using Zeigler Natta catalyst is capable of producing the complete range of homopolymer grades. MRPL operates an Aromatic Complex, a petrochemical unit capable of producing 0.905 MMTPA of Para Xylene and 0.273 MMTPA of Benzene. This Aromatic Complex is situated in the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) and is fully integrated with MRPL. MRPL has Two Captive Jetties in NMPT, Single Point Mooring Facility, While Oil Loading Facility, Rail Wagon Loading Silo for Petcoke, and Truck Loading Silos for Petcoke.
Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation Limited (KMF) is the Apex Body for the dairy co-operative movement in Karnataka. The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is a Government coal mining company jointly owned by the Government of Telangana and Government of India on a 51:49 equity basis. The Singareni coal reserves stretch across 350 Km of the Pranahita – Godavari Valley of Telangana with a proven geological reserves aggregating to whopping 8791 million tonnes. SCCL is currently operating 17 opencast and 22 underground mines in 6 districts of Telangana with a manpower around 42,000.
National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation is a fully owned company of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The company promotes, surveys, establishes, designs, builds, operates, maintains and upgrades National Highways and Strategic Roads including interconnecting roads in parts of the country which share international boundaries with neighboring countries. The regional connectivity so enhanced would promote cross border trade and commerce and help safeguard India’s international borders. This would lead to the formation of a more integrated and economically consolidated South and South East Asia. In addition, there would be overall economic benefits for the local population and help integrate the peripheral areas with the mainstream in a more robust manner. An approximate aggregate length of 10,000 kms has been identified to begin with for development through this company. The company envisages creating customized and specialized skills in terms of addressing issues like complexities of geographical terrains and addressing extensive coordination requirements with security agencies. The company would also endeavor to undertake infrastructure projects including but not restricted to urban infrastructure and urban or city transport and to act as an agency for development of all types of Infrastructure.
