India also exceeds the global average in workplace harm according to Lloyd’s Register Foundation World Risk 2024 Report | Engineering safer workplaces: Global trends in occupational safety and health. This has decreased significantly in the past two years dropping to its lowest at 30% of workers reporting harm. This demonstrates that the positive steps Indian businesses are taking are delivering significant improvements for their workers and the economy.
Taken together, it is visible to see that these significant improvements made by India’s workplaces are steering the country in the right direction.
India stands at a crossroads-its workplaces can either become the driving force behind sustained economic growth or a barrier to its full potential. The data speaks volumes: while strides have been made, workplace engagement, well-being, and safety still require urgent attention. The choice is clear-by prioritizing a thriving, engaged workforce, Indian business leaders can propel the nation toward global economic leadership.

Vipula Gandhi is a Managing Partner and Head of Gallup’s U.S. Workplace Advisory Practice. She is passionate about the people behind organizations, driving her mission to help businesses achieve their goals by equipping employees with the best organizational practices and the ability to reach their full potential.
Based in Gallup’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, Vipula and her teams work with multinational clients to understand their company’s aspirations, develop long-term strategic plans, and deliver research and analytics-based solutions that drive positive business outcomes. She has an exceptional track record building world-class teams and cultivating a high-performing, agile and collaborative culture. As a member of Gallup’s board, Vipula also helps drive organizational growth at Gallup. She also serves on the board of Streetwise Partners.
Vipula has an MBA from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom and is an alumna of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. She has a wealth of international leadership experience having worked in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and United States.
Rohit Kar is the Regional Director of Gallup Japan and South Asia Markets, with 20 years of experience advising organizations across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Pacific. He has led businesses and consulting teams across five countries, partnering with major organizations on Leadership Development, Culture Transformation, and Customer Centricity.
Rohit has worked with clients across BFSI, Healthcare, Public Sector, and Manufacturing, driving large-scale transformation projects across APAC. A sought-after speaker, he represents Gallup at conferences and industry events.
He began his career at Gallup in India, later leading operations in Thailand, the Middle East, and Australia before taking on his current role in Tokyo. Rohit holds an Engineering degree from the University of Mumbai and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Institute of Management & Technology, Ghaziabad.
Jeremie Brecheisen leads the Gallup EMEA division as Managing Partner.
Over the past two years, Jeremie has lead The Gallup CHRO Roundtable, which hosts 1,000+ large company CHROs. He has conducted over 800 1:1 interviews with these CHROs, hosted over 500 roundtables, conducted over 200 briefings with large company HR leadership teams, and published and written about data from quarterly CHRO surveys, with many published on Gallup.com and in the Harvard Business Review. His data is quoted in many publications such as the Wall Street Journal among others.
Jeremie is a regular contributor and subject matter expert for many topics on Gallup.com, including Gallup’s Real Future of Work series, disruptive forces, agility, the future of HR, and industry-specific challenges.
Jeremie has managed many of Gallup’s largest global clients, and his work has taken him all over the globe, including North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He has personally trained or coached thousands of managers and has designed workplace solutions for hundreds of thousands more.
Jeremie is an experienced public speaker, having presented at many public conferences such as HRD Summits, MoneyLive Events, HCI Conferences, Argyle Conferences, Merit Summits and Corenet Conventions among others. He has served as keynote speaker at international conventions with audiences of over 30,000 and live streaming audiences of more than 10,000. He regularly conducts Gallup public webinars to international audiences.
Jeremie received his bachelor’s degree in modern Asian history from Brigham Young University. He received a Master of Business Administration degree in the China International Program from the University of Hawaii. Jeremie speaks conversational Mandarin Chinese.
Mr. Shiv Shivakumar currently serves as the Operating Partner at Advent International. Prior to his role at Advent International, he held the position of Group Executive President, Corporate Strategy at Aditya Birla Group. Before joining Aditya Birla Group, Mr. Shivakumar served as the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer at PepsiCo Holdings Private Limited in India. Additionally, he has held the position of CEO for emerging markets at Nokia in his previous professional endeavours.
Mr. Shivakumar is an engineer from IIT Madras and followed it up with management courses at IIM Calcutta and The Wharton Business School. He is a distinguished alumnus from both IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta. He has received many awards for leadership, turnaround, transformation, brand building, HR practices etc. He was awarded the KPMG- AIMA award for Outstanding leadership and the Asian Association of Management organisations Asia leadership award.
Mr. Shivakumar is also a prominent speaker, delivering over 25 convocation speeches at various top Business Schools like IIM Kozhikode, IIM Trichy, IIM Nagpur, and others. He is a regular contributor to business press, teaches at premier business schools, and is a sought-after speaker for corporate events.
He has authored three books: "Reflections, a compilation of Shivs articles", "The Right Choice, Resolving Ten career dilemmas", and "The Art of Management."
Avantika steers the organization’s overall strategy with respect to the people strategies, initiatives, programs and processes. She heads the people function for the organization.
Avantika has more than 2 decades of experience spanning HR business partnering, HR consulting, rewards management, performance management and whole gamut of employee life cycle management. Prior to joining us, she was associated with PepsiCo, Aon Hewitt, NIIT and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.
Avantika has done her MBA in Marketing and Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune. She holds a BSc degree in Applied Sciences from Delhi University.
Dr. Tanaya Mishra is a distinguished executive coach and facilitator with over 30 years of experience in human resources and organizational development. With an impressive academic background that includes a Ph.D. in Manpower Planning, a postgraduate degree in Human Resources, and a Bachelor in Law, she brings both academic rigor and real-world expertise to her role. Dr. Mishra is certified in multiple renowned assessment and development tools such as Hogan, Gallup, DDI, Thomas, SHL, and holds ACC credentialing from the International Coaching Federation, underscoring her commitment to excellence in coaching.
Throughout her illustrious career, she has held leadership positions with industry giants, steering complex, cross-cultural projects across sectors including Pharma, IT/ITES, Steel, Energy, and Retail. Her notable roles as Managing Director APAC and Global CHRO/CPO for companies like Accenture, JSW Group, Essar, and others have demonstrated her deep strategic insight and transformational leadership.
A true global influencer in HR, Dr. Mishra is recognized as an HR Powerhouse by ETHR World and has received several accolades for her contributions, awarded with Women Super Achiever and Global Iconic Leader award.
Prof. (Dr.) Rama Prosad Banerjee is the Thought Leader, Author, Chairman & Director of EIILM-Kolkata, one of India's leading business schools and Founder of EIILM-Kolkata Centre for Leadership and Ethics (EKCLE). He is an eminent academician, philanthropist, edupreneur and thought leader. He is a prolific author and a pioneer in establishing Ethics and Values in Management academics. Over the course of three and a half decades, he has gathered a wealth of experience as an international educationist, teaching at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world. His remarkable work in the sphere of stress management, mother leadership, integration of Raj Dharma and Economic Emergence have created a lasting impact on management education.
Puneet Pratap Singh is a subject matter expert and regional director of research and analytics with Gallup APAC. He works closely with consulting teams in South and Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East to develop strategies that help Gallup clients improve their performance.
Since joining Gallup in 2012, Puneet has worked in Gallup’s Bangalore, Bangkok, Singapore and London offices. Throughout this time, his primary focus has been driving organizational change with clients in manufacturing, hospitality, IT, automotive, banking and telecoms industry sectors. In addition to being a recognized public speaker, Puneet also leads Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace research initiative for the South Asian region.
Puneet has an MBA with a marketing concentration from the Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad, Delhi, and a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU).
