On 25 November 2025, Institute of Directors (IOD), India, hosted a special evening in honour of Ms. Helen Brand, OBE, Chief Executive of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA), UK, celebrating her global leadership in accountancy and governance. The event also marked the renewal of the MoU between IOD, India and ACCA, reinforcing their commitment to governance excellence, professional development, and ethical leadership. The occasion was also graced by the presence of Mr. Ashok Kapur, IAS (Retd.), Director General of IOD; Mr. Md Sajid Khan, Director-India, ACCA; and Mr. Sundeep Jakhar, Head of Public Affairs, ACCA (India).

The reception, held at the Gymkhana Club, New Delhi, brought together distinguished guests, senior leaders, and ACCA affiliates. Lt. Gen. Surinder Nath, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.), welcomed attendees and recognised Ms. Brand's outstanding contributions to global accountancy standards, ethical reporting, and professional integrity. He expressed deep appreciation for her guidance in shaping collaborative initiatives that advance corporate governance and boardroom excellence in India.

Ms. Brand also shared her insights on the evolving role of finance professionals and the importance of global collaboration in strengthening governance standards. She emphasised that the organisation's partnerships are its “super-power,” enabling ACCA to create opportunities for individuals, organisations, and businesses worldwide. She noted that the longstanding collaboration with IOD exemplifies what the two organisations can achieve when aligned by shared goals, values, and purpose: serving the public good, strengthening boardroom leadership, and shaping governance frameworks that support a vibrant, sustainable future.

The highlight of the evening was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Mr. Manoj K. Raut, CEO & Secretary General of IOD India, and Ms. Helen Brand OBE, formalising the continued strategic partnership. The collaboration between IOD and ACCA is rooted in mutual respect and a shared vision: that good governance builds trust, strong financial leadership ensures sustainability, professional competency strengthens institutions, and ethical standards shape public confidence. Together, they have brought global insights to Indian boardrooms, supported director development, and promoted world-class governance practices.

The evening concluded with a dinner and networking session, offering a platform for meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas. The event was a fitting tribute to Ms. Helen Brand's leadership and to the enduring partnership between IOD India and ACCA, reaffirming their commitment to building institutions that inspire trust, transparency, and excellence.
