IOD Announcement: Neerabh Kumar Prasad, IAS (Retd.) Appointed Honorary Chairman of Institute of Directors (IOD), Hyderabad Regional Office
The Hyderabad Regional Office of the Institute of Directors (IOD), India is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Neerabh Kumar Prasad, IAS, (Retd.) as its new Honorary Chairman.
A distinguished civil servant and former Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Prasad brings with him an exceptional range of leadership experience spanning public administration, policy reform, and institutional governance. Over the course of his career, he has held several pivotal assignments across key sectors including industries, infrastructure, urban development, environment and climate change, and tourism.
Mr. Prasad has been closely associated with several marquee initiatives that have shaped the development trajectory of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh. These include the Hi-Tech City Project, Outer Ring Road, and the Clean Hussainsagar Project, as well as multiple Public-Private-Partnership initiatives in the tourism and road sectors. His contributions also extend to strategic planning and sustainability initiatives such as the Hyderabad Master Plan 2013, the Andhra Pradesh Shore Management Project, updated Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Plans, and the State Action Plan on Climate Change.
At the national level, Mr. Prasad served in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs where he played a key role in strengthening India's corporate governance framework. He was instrumental in the formulation and enactment of the Competition Act, 2002 as well as in the establishment of Competition Commission of India. He has also been a member of the Corporate Governance Reform Committees. His work further contributed to significant amendments in the ICAI, ICSI, and ICWAI Acts, reinforcing accountability and elevating governance standards within professional bodies.
Known for his sharp ability to identify complex challenges, apply rigorous analysis, and develop innovative, out-ofthe- box solutions, Mr. Prasad's leadership is expected to significantly strengthen the mission and impact of the Hyderabad Regional Office.
