have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
The Caribbean Corporate Governance Council (CCGI) and the Institute of Directors (IOD), India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in corporate governance, director training and leadership on 01 September 2025.
The Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) incorporated as a not-for-profit membership organization in 2012 and is recognised in the Caribbean as the leading non-profit professional organisation committed to:
• developing and enhancing professional standards of directors through education and learning
• researching, formulating and publishing best practice standards of corporate governance for directors, and
• representing the interests of all corporate governance stakeholders.
Since 2014 the Institute has provided world-class training, professional development, and networking for Directors and Senior Executives. The CCGI has members from nine Caribbean countries including Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, St Lucia, St Maarten, the British Virgin Islands, Belize, Suriname and from Trinidad and Tobago which serves as its headquarters. The CCGI works closely across various stakeholder groups to establish and maintain appropriate corporate governance standards and guidance for organizations and investors operating in the Caribbean.
The Institute of Directors (IOD), India, over the past 35 years, has grown into India's leading organisation for directors, with a vibrant network of over 31,000 senior executives from the public, private, and government sectors-both in India and abroad including more than 11,000 trained Certified Directors through its acclaimed Masterclass for Directors.
We are proud to partner with Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) in our shared commitment to build a stronger and a more inclusive future.
The key collaboration area focus will be Cross-Border Knowledge Exchange fostering joint research initiatives, co-publication opportunities, co-hosting or cross-promoting director-level summits, developing certification modules for respective director communities, and policy advocacy, aligning best practices across regions.
Together we aim to drive innovation, sustainability, and boardroom excellence across and India and the Caribbean islands.
