SEBI Unveils Three Digital Platforms to Boost Compliance & Cyber Oversight
In a strategic move to enhance the ease of doing business while tightening cybersecurity supervision, SEBI has launched three new IT platforms, shared below:
1. SUPCOMS: A Single Window for All Communications
SUPCOMS replaces fragmented email-based correspondence with a unified portal. For regulated entities, this means all communications with SEBI are centralized, searchable, and auditable. The platform creates a robust institutional memory and audit trail, eliminating the risk of broken reply chains or lost information.
2. e-Adjudication Portal: Digital Quasi-Judicial Proceedings
This next-gen platform digitates the entire adjudication process. Entities can now access Show Cause Notices, submit replies, and participate in hearings through a dedicated online module. This portal will enhance transparency and reduce uncertainty in regulatory proceedings by providing a single, accessible digital interface.
3. C-SAC: AI-Enabled Cyber Security Audit Compliance
The most forward-looking of the three, C-SAC uses artificial intelligence to analyze cyber audit reports submitted by regulated entities. It identifies compliance gaps, risk areas, and provides risk scores along with comparative peer analysis. This allows the market regulator to move toward a more robust Risk-Based Supervision (RBS) approach by enabling timely, data-driven decisions and reducing manual intervention.
These platforms are designed to reduce administrative friction, improve transparency, and deepen the regulator's ability to monitor cyber risks proactively. Boards should ensure their compliance and IT teams are ready to transition fully to these portals.
